BDA Submits Comment Letter to MSRB on Rule G-37

Today, the BDA submitted a comment letter to the MSRB in response to a request for comment on draft amendments to Rule G-37 on political contributions made by dealers and prohibitions on municipal securities business and to extend the rule to cover municipal advisors.  You can view our final comment letter here.

Specifically, our comments focused on:

  • Generally supporting the MSRB’s efforts in creating a level playing field between dealers and municipal advisors.
  • Request that the MSRB consider revising the provisions in the draft amendment to prevent duplicative maintenance of records and disclosures.
  • Request that the MSRB increase the de minimis contribution limits for dealers and municipal advisors with respect to officials for whom they are entitled to vote from $250 to $350.
